Description

GTEC Area Redevelopment

The Gainesville Technology Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC) is a 30,000 sq. ft. business incubator, owned by the City and managed by Santa Fe College. Established in 2000, GTEC was the first technology company incubator in the City.

The GTEC area will play a pivotal role in the economic progress corridor leading from the University of Florida to the City of Hawthorne. Through community collaboration, the area is undergoing a redesign with commercial-focused mixed-use development, aiming to retain GTEC graduates in East Gainesville and attract new businesses to the area.

Sarah Vidal-Finn, Interim Director of the Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency, will share the plan and progress for the area. Bill Dorman, Interim Director of GTEC, will discuss the incubator’s programs that providing early stage startup companies with tools, training and infrastructure to help them get started, grow and develop into financially viable enterprises.

Join us for this event — part of a series of first Friday luncheons presented by the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Envision Alachua — focused transforming greater Gainesville and creating our area’s future.
